About EGGceptional Abilities

In the spring of 2015, a small microbusiness was formed for the individuals residing in a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. The residents were unsuccessful in their traditional day programs and were in desperate need of a program matched to their unique abilities. The goal was to custom design a program to capitalize on the tendency for them to thrive in a structured, controlled, and supportive environment. The mission was to provide meaningful responsibilities and tasks related to the care of egg laying hens while promoting independence, real life job experience, and engendering self-worth.

EGGceptional Abilities is that program.
