Corn

What is summer without corn? My childhood memories of being on South Water Market and watching all of the farmers bring in their daily harvest is a fond one. The corn they brought in would still be warm from the fields and tender enough to eat right then and there. The midwest has the best growing conditions for corn and nothing could be fresher. Our partnership with local farms, such as Mick Klug Farms and Garwood Orchards, allows us to offer some of the freshest, sweetest corn around. The brown sugar or bi-color sweet varieties are lip-smacking good! Storage tip: Refrigeration robs corn of its moisture. If storing longer than a few days, pack in a plastic bag to hold in that moisture. The kernels won't get hard and starchy either.
